30 DAYS til OPENING ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Greetings from the find family,

There are not enough brown paper bags in the world to help with the date on the calendar today.

We open in 30 days. Gulp!

Literally hundreds of the coolest items are coming thru our back door, computer system and software are functioning great thanks to the wonderful folks at Best Consignment Store Software aka BCSS. Steve and Joy are always there to get us thru the what do I do parts.

Tags are on, some vignettes have started and the hanging walls are ready to be secured.

Still so very much to get accomplished, just in time for your visit.

Remember we open the doors at 10 AM Thursday the 17th of October, 2013, ready or not! LOL

Day 41

Greetings from the find family,

Well, we are moving at light speed here at the building. Walls are going up, cash wrap desk was started and it kinda looked cool today !

This was around lunch

And then a short time later, 

This was the scene.

Moving forward, slow and steady !

Vendors start arriving next week so we had better hurry and get this finished,

Lucky day 74 and celebrating

It is official!

It is really happening!

We have a huge, beautiful home to hold our monthly events in.

Our new permanent home will be

 RT 30 Plex
16300 West Lincoln Highway
 Plainfield  IL 60544

So so easy to get to us. South of I 294 25 minutes
                                         South of I 355 12 minutes
                                          West off I 55 1/4 mile on Hwy 30, south side HUGE building


We have the entire top floor, almost 7,000 square feet of wonderful goods, all getting spiffied up for your visit.

78 days and counting AGAIN

Greetings from the find family,

Something else really cool happened on day 78 I forgot to mention.

While explaining to a customer visiting our booth in Allegan MI last Sunday, I mentioned that we were thrilled to be involved with this great new market event coming to the suburbs of Chicago.

My customer got all excited and whipped out her date book and said to her friend, "Well, I guess we are just gonna' have to make a day trip to IL to see this great new market."

And she proceeded to record our opening, October 17 in her datebook . . .

We officially made someones datebook !

I got all emotional and when she left, she smiled and said "We'll definitely see you in October if not sooner here".

It was huge, someone actually said they would come. We all talk in positive terms but this was a complete stranger who loved the idea we explained to her, and her friends. A girl's road trip. 

I floated the rest of the day . . .

Greetings from the find family,

Time is flying by at warp speed and we can't manage enough projects into the few precious hours in every day.

The good news we were junk hunting this past weekend and found two really cool items for the first market.

First was a really old grocery cart, similar to this, ours is orange!

 and the second cart is a 50's cart similar to this

just really neat

To round out the shopping, we then found a whole bunch of these vintage laundry carts

These puppies will make great dump display pieces.

We are on the lookout for all types of lumber and wood scraps, need to build the general store area that will house all the beautiful fabrics, ribbons, trims, purses and jewelry, all handmade vintage styled jewelry.

It is starting to get exciting here,

99 days and counting

greetings from the find family,

It is 99 days until we open our doors to the public for what will soon become 'the' place to find great stuff, industrial, antique, shabby chic, mid century, primitives, and vintage. Nothing like Illinois has ever seen.

This week we think we found our building, a couple more hurdles and we will know for sure. We are going to have plenty of space for all of the gorgeous vignettes that will be done by our designers and staff.  Lots of cool ideas on mixing and matching the hottest new items available to you.
